Dr. Pan Lu received the Ph.D. degree in transportation and logistics at NDSU, Fargo in 2010. Dr. Lu has been employed full time since 2011 with North Dakota State University's Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute. Currently Dr. Pan Lu serves as associate professor focusing on the area of asset management, sustainable freight transportation, rail transportation, transportation safety, big data analysis and GIS-T applications. Dr. Lu has been the principal investigator or lead scientist on research grants valued at more than $2 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation since 2011 to conduct research on critical transportation issues facing the nation. She is the author of more than 20 peer-reviewed technical articles. Dr. Lu also serves on editorial board for several journals.
